For the 2002 World Cup we made special Square Pies for each country in the Cup (e.g. England Steak and Kidney, France Beef Bourguignon etc) and on the days that the first round matches were played we sold the respective pies in the shop alongside our usual range. Each sale of a world cup pie counted as a goal and the results went into the Group tables and by the end of the first round each pie had played 3 times. The top two in each group went through to the 2nd round - again with qualifying pies being sold on the same days as the 2nd round games. And so on until the grand final on the 30th June when the best pie in the world was decided.
